Project Activity

Work on Elbury Hill 2 is now complete, the route we've used to access the site with our machinery has been put back with top soil and grass seeded and a path has been installed down to the edge of the reservoir using concrete.

The ducting which is currently visible in the gravel will need to be altered so that it runs under the gravel and there is a meeting planned on site in the near future regarding the best way to acheive this.

We are now completely finished here at Elbury and have left the site, we've made sure all areas have been swept and left clean and tidy.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the local residents of Ebury Park Road for there continued understanding and patience whilst these works have been going on.

Thank you all.

I am pleased to say that the flood test was a success and the reservoir has now been cleaned internally and disinfected.

We have begun the process of putting stone back on to the reservoir roof, this is to cover and protect the waterproof layer and has a decorative effect.

We plan to have this completed by the end of next week, once this is completed and we're ready to leave the site we'll making sure the track that leads to the reservoir is also clear.

The Geo-textile fabric, which acts as protection for the membrane and the new kerbs have now been put in place and we have carried out a flood test, the flood test consists of us putting water onto the membrane to simulate heavy rain fall, we then go inside the reservoir and see if there are any water coming through the membrane, this proved to be successful which means the new membrane is water tight, we will be cleaning the inside of the reservoir in the coming days.

Once this is complete we will continue to put the new gravel on roof of the rservoir.

Hello residents,

The last couple of weeks on site at Elbury Hill have been very productive, we now have the full membrane system installed, this includes the sheet membrane which lies flat on the concrete slab and the liquid membrane which is painted on the concrete upstands in order to make the membrane as one.

Next, a layer of geo-textile will be placed on top of the membrane, this is similar to a thick carpet which will help protect the membrane from the 40mm pebbles which will be installed at the end of the job.

Next week will see the kerbs around the edge of the reservoir installed, and a start on the drainage.

Thanks

James Twigg

Hello,

A quick update from site,

During the digging of the trenches it was clear that parts of it needed to be dug by hand rather than using a digger as the perimeter fence was too tight to get the digger in so this has delayed us slightly, the waterproofing works on the hatches (which sit on top of the concrete roof) went well and are now ready for the next stage, this includes applying a small concrete fillet along the bottom edge to remove the tight 90 degree angle, prepping the concrete using grinders to enable us to get a good key for the adhesive to grab on to once we applied the waterproofing bandage.

As well as this, the main concrete slab has been jetted off to remove any dirt and primed ready to recieve the sheet membrane, weather permitting this will be installed in the next week or so.

Thanks,

James Twigg

Hello,

I am pleased to say that all the of the soil has now been removed from the top of the reservoir and disposed of, off site. Trenches around the edge have been dug out and the soil cleared. We're now ready for drainage to be installed to allow water from the edge of the reservoir to drain away more easily.

We're working on the concrete stands that house the entrance hatches these are now well underway and will be completed by the end of the week. The work also starts next week on replacing the waterproof layer to protect the roof of the reservoir.

We will continue to maintain access paths for the local residents so they can continue to enjoy the area whilst we carry out the works.

Hello,

A quick update for you all,

The works began as planned on the 12th March, we have mainly been working inside the reservoir so not much for you all to see at the moment, Wednesday 21st will see us having a few deliveries (outside of peak times of cause) and then over the next couple of weeks we will be removing the soil overburden from the top of the reservoir and having it disposed of off site, this will see a slight increase in activity on the track, but please dont be alarmed as this will be managed by our banksman and again kept to within working hours as to not cause disruption in the evenings.

I look forward to provinding you all with more updates in the near future and keep an eye out for the video update coming soon.

Thanks

James

Hello Residents,

Just a quick update prior to us (stonbury) starting work on our Elbury Hill site.

You will have found posted through your door a notification letter of the works which we will be carrying out, We will be mobilising onto site Monday 12/03/18.

We will be aiming to keep disruption to an absolute minimum over the next few weeks.

Although access will be restricted at times, this wont be the case in the evenings or at weekends when the area is enjoyed most by its local residents.

We look forward to seeing you around and please feel free to ask any questions you may have.

Thanks James

Welcome to Elbury Hill Reservoir Community Portal.

Severn Trent Water have taken this reservoir out of service so the planned works can be undertaken.

Stonbury Ltd have been awarded the contract to install a new membrane onto the roof slab. We hope to mobilise onto site on Monday 26th February This follows some work already undertaken inside the reservoir towards the end of 2017. The construction period will be complete by the middle of May.

We will have plant on site as this will be used to remove the soil overburden, this will then be collected from site using grab hire lorries, fencing and signage will be used to clearly mark out the areas which are for pedestrians and which are not.

There will be an increase in the amount of vehicles going up to the site location off Elbury Park Road, but we aim to keep the disturbances to an absolute minimum.

We will have security on site during the nights so this site will be manned 24 hours.

The site will be supervised by Tom Burke Stonbury Site Agent and managed by James Twigg Stonbury Project Manager. Tom and myself will be on site most of the time so if there are any questions or problems please contact me on 07495902873 or Stephen Jackson on 07495902921 or via the Community Portal. We welcome your feedback so please add your comments to the portal updates during the construction period.

We will provide regular updates with pictures and videos to the Community Portal throughout the contract so please log in to keep updated with our progress.

Thanks, James
