Afternoon,

Our work on Sedgley reservoir has now completely finished, we were able to get aerial footage of the site a few weeks ago which we thought you would like to see.

The work we’ve completed here on behalf of South Staffs Water has been to maintain the roof of the reservoir and install new drainage.

On the top of the reservoir the grass is starting to grow back, which is why the barriers remained in place after the work here had finished.

We’ve left the reservoir now, all the cabins, site equipment and barriers have been removed and full access to walk across the top has been restored. The grass and other fauna will take some time to naturally return over the winter and into spring, please bear with us and South Staffs Water whilst this takes place.

On behalf of the team that’s been working at Sedgley over this year, we’d really like to thank the residents and general public for their patience while the work has been carried out.

Thankyou,

Afternoon,

I've been to visit this week, as you'll notice on the bar above that we're now at 100%, the work on site has now finished and as mentioned in a previous update the grass is now growing back on the top of the reservoir.

The perimeter fence has been moved to allow access on one side to walk across the top, I've taken some photos to show you the progress and we'll be keeping you updated until we've fully removed everything from our site.

Thanks, Chloe

Afternoon,

I've been to visit the reservoir this morning, I've recorded a video below to update you on how progress is continuing, (it was particularly windy on the top this morning!)

The work happening on this reservoir will start to slow down as the main bulk of the work here has been completed, the site is going to be returned to how it was before the work started which means leaving time for grass to grow back and be protected.

Over the next few weeks, you may notice less changes, just to make you aware, there will be large vehicles visiting to remove some of the cabins and the diggers and dumper trucks that have been used to complete the work.

If you've got any questions or would like any more information, please get in touch,

Hi Everyone

I Just thought I would let you all know that the waterproof membrane has been completed and we are now returning the excavated soil back onto the roof.

This will take a few weeks to complete but at least there is an end in sight.

We also have vegetation clearance to carry out on the embankments. I expect this to start early next week.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Thanks for now.

Afternoon!

I'm Chloe and I am supporting the Sedgley Community Portal updates. You may see me visiting the site to help keep you informed, so please feel free to ask any questions that you may have!

I've dropped into Sedgley this morning to do a quick progress post, the weather has been great and the team are the majority of the way through replacing the waterproof layer that covers the top of the reservoir. As you can see on the photos, the waterproofing is applied before the earth is placed back over the top.

If you have been up to Sedgley recently, you will have probably noticed the large mounds of earth that were taken away to expose the roof, this soil will be put back into place to look just as it did previous to our works. As Barry has previously mentioned, this amounts to a whopping 13,000 tonnes of earth!

We really appreciate your feedback, so thank you to those that have commented already. And as I mentioned earlier, please do feel free to contact Barry or myself, should you have any other questions!

Hi

We are making good progress despite the hot weather. We have had to start work at 5am laying the new waterproof membrane before the weather gets too hot.

We have 90% of the roof membrane complete and approximately 40% of the soil back on to the roof.

We are desperately working on the public footpath area of the roof so we can get this open as soon as possible.

It has been good that a few people have given me a call to discuss the work we are doing and our progress. If anybody has any questions then please feel free to comment on here or give me a call on my mobile.

Hi Everyone

just a quick update on the progress at the reservoir.

The whole roof has been stripped of soil and has been stored at the end of the reservoir. Weh have removed in the region of 13,000 tonnes of soil.

The new waterproof membrane is being installed and is 40 percent complete.

We are now in the process of putting the soil back on the roof in the areas where the membrane has been completed.

Thanks for your patience while we carry out this work I know it must be inconvenient for all you dog walkers.
